Titimukhta is a mid-size ore field located in Severo-Yeniseyskiy district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the immediate vicinity of the largest field developed by Olimpiadinskiy Mining and Processing Plant, OAO Polyus Gold. It was discovered in 1990, and in 2003 ZAO Polyus owned by OAO MMC Norilsk Nickel won the right of use of the subsurface site for exploration and production of hardrock gold. After completion of geological exploration work performed by Polyus, the facility has been considered having a real production value as an ore-grade gold mineralization has been discovered at Titimukhta.
The field is of stockwork vein-veinlet gold and bismuth ore type that was discovered on Yenisey ridge for the first time. At the moment of opening, predicted geological resources Р1 amounted to 32.2 tons of gold (currently, this value has been increased to 34.278 tons). The field is used for open mining.
As part of a program for reconstruction and development of ore production and processing facilities, OAO Polyus Gold constructed a bioreactor unit at the field for bacterial oxidation of gold-bearing ore with the use of equipment supplied by ADL.
61 Orbinox VG gate valves with diameters from 50 to 300 mm were installed. Obsolete valves and fittings were also replaced that resulted in reduction of emergency shutdowns of the pump line used for suction of gold-bearing pulp and 2 new facilities were constructed with the use of valves and fittings supplied by ADL, namely, a cyan-containing tailings SO2/air detoxification unit for Olimpiadinskaya gold recovery plant and a cyan-containing tailings SO2/air detoxification department.
ZAO Polyus being a member of Polyus Gold Group plans to increase the production volume at Titimukhta field up to 4.3 tons that will attract even more attention of gold processing industry to Russia that is ranked second in the world for its gold resources.
