LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez is a refinery located near Perm. Its processing capacity is about 13 million tons of oil per year. Over half of the oil products produced by the plant is shipped for export. Over its 50-year history of existence, the plant has been the industry leader for a number of parameters.
Pipelines are the critical element of oil production and are used not only for transportation of raw hydrocarbons. Infield pipelines join all process facilities into one whole production complex. That is why corrosion control on pipelines has been and still is one of the most critical issues in the oil production sector.
In summer 2012, LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez launched a project for equipping the plant with dosing stations. For this project pumps were required that could be installed on a perchloroethylene and butyl alcohols feeding unit on the pipeline for corrosion elimination. For this purpose, Milton Roy pumps were selected featuring metal diaphragm and explosion-proof motor of special design (1,000 rpm). This choice was made because Milton Roy is one of few manufacturers that are able to ensure high dosing accuracy (±1%) at so low feeding speed (0.015 l/h). These pumps are considered the safest as each pump with hydraulically driven diaphragm is supplied with a safety valve. ADL acted as the official supplier of the pumps required.
